Should you use turmeric?

Richard Kelly 9th March 2020

Today’s blog, to the delight of some of you, will be a short one, because today I’m going to talk to you about the benefits of turmeric.

Turmeric is a spice and does far more than turn foods yellow. It contains curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory effects and is an antioxidant to boot.

But why would you want this? There are some benefits to inflammation, but many chronic western illnesses are caused by low-level, constant inflammation. Regular intakes of turmeric therefore help to offset this.

Curcumin also boost repair and growth of your brains even in adulthood. This means it can reverse some brain illnesses and improve cognitive function generally. There are also studies that indicate it could boost memory too. Because of these mental pathways being stimulated it benefits those with arthritis and those suffering depression too.

Interestingly there is widespread research that indicates turmeric having a positive benefit in reducing heart disease and can contribute towards fighting some cancers.

As you can see from the above it has a wide-range of applications across a variety of serious illnesses and diseases. However, even if you don’t suffer from any of these conditions doesn’t mean you shouldn’t regular take turmeric. It will have a preventative benefit for many issues and in the case of others it could delay the onset of these problems, or even lessen the severity of them.
