How many people do you know who would like to lose weight?
Or build some muscle?
Or run a marathon?
How many people do you know who actually do it?
And how many people do you know that have done it and maintained it afterwards?
You are probably looking at one person, maybe at best a handful.
There are a number of reasons why people fail to achieve the goals they set for themselves, not least the way achieving results is set out to be a case of some hard work and a very small amount of patience, but the reality is that in many cases the blame lies on your own doorstep.
When you begin a journey towards a health and fitness goal people know that exercise and diet are key. Yet often at the outset they want to trade off the amount they have to sacrifice in order to reach their goal.
I have a friend who told me that he wants to lose weight but still regularly drinks beer on two or three evenings a week. He’s stopped losing weight and has tried just about everything but cutting out beer in order to get what he wants. In his case he’s undoubtedly stalled because of his alcohol consumption, and this is sabotaging his progress.
